Obligations for Employers

A training contract is a legally binding agreement between employer and trainee. In signing the contract, all parties are bound by certain obligations in the contract and legislation.

Traineeship Eligibility

Educators may elect to study full-time or part-time– learning on the job! Educators will need to be permanently employed for a minimum of 15 hours per week, and will not be eligible if they are a casual employee or sub-contractor.

Educators will need to be minimum working age but there is no maximum age limit to begin a traineeship and will also need to be an Australian Citizen, a New Zealand passport holder or hold a visa that allows you to engage in work in Australia.

How to get started?

If you have a partnership with an Australian Apprenticeship Support Network (AASN) you can contact them to schedule a sign-up meeting.
Alternatively, complete the ‘Expression of Interest’ (EOI) form via the ‘Register’ icon at the top of this page. Once completed this will be received by CTAS Education Enrolment Officer, who can contact the nominated AASN on your behalf.
